Texas White Christmas!

December 29, 2009

For the first time since 1926, Dallas got a White Christmas!   It snowed all day Christmas Eve, and we ended up with around 3 or 4 inches of blowing little flakes.  Our weathermen actually called it a blizzard!  I think that folks up north who know what a real blizzard looks like would have laughed their butts off to hear that!

For us, the snow caused lots of traffic problems since it turned to ice just as everyone in the area was on the road, but it was gorgeous and we thoroughly enjoyed it.  Here are some images from my Christmas this year…

After a day of snow, still snowing.

We hope you had a wonderful Christmas, and that it had a few surprises for you as ours did!

    Yay for white Christmases!
Love your cat photos. They really make me smile. We had cats all my life. I had my own special kitty, Scottie! LOVED him. Then, when I was 16, for some reason, I became REALLY allergic to cats. Scottie became an outside cat, I moved away at 22, my parents kept Scottie. He lived to a ripe old age of at least 18, when he was hit by a car and killed (probably would have lived another 18 if that hadn’t happened!). Anyway, I used to dress him up and have so much fun with him. Love your cat photos! Thanks.

Hey Katrina! Sorry you became allergic to cats; I guess your body just had enough of the allergens. Poor little Scottie. That’s a tragic way to end such a nice long life. Do you have dogs now? I can’t imagine living without an animal or two. They just add so much to your life. I’ll be dressing my cats up more in 2010, you can be sure of that, whether they like it or not! Happy New Year!

We don’t have any other pets. My husband says he hates dogs. Moreso big ones. But I’ve been telling him for a while now that with four boys, someday we WILL have a dog. I would love a cute little fluffy thing, shiz tzu (sp?) or a kind like that. I almost had him talked in to getting the boys one for Christmas, they would have totally be surprised, but since we’re moving next summer and will be putting our house on the market in a few months, we decided to wait until we settle elsewhere. I’d rather have a kitty, but guess we can’t always have what we want, huh! 😉
    Maybe a bunny!?

Hey again, Katrina! I guess you have enough kiddos to keep you busy, huh? 😀 I bet your boys would love a dog, but it makes sense to not make that kind of commitment if you have a big project ahead like selling your house. I’d love a big dog along with the kitties, but since I don’t have a yard it wouldn’t be fair to one. There’s a guy in my neighborhood who walks 6 to 8 border collies and labs at one time, if you can believe that! I wish I could get it on video; they’re like perfectly behaved little doggie soldiers.

    Have a happy new year!
