George Washington wanted Thanksgiving Day to be celebrated on November 26th each year. If he would have gotten his way, we would be celebrating BigSis' birthday on Thanksgiving Day every year! However, in 1863, Abraham Lincoln asked that all Americans set aside the last Thursday in November as Thanksgiving Day.
Regardless of which day we celebrate Thanksgiving, we feel it's important to remember what this day is all about. We are thankful and grateful for being blessed. On this Thanksgiving Day, we want to share this favorite quote. It says it all.
“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It turns a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.” Melody Beattie
